I have had this idea for a long time but I think this would take SOTN hacked to the next level. What is the Rock room in SOTN? well it is a very well known room in SOTN the room is featured in many castlevania games from Castlevania 1 to Castlevania Aria of sorrow. It is a room that appears in the castle entrance hallway that leads to larger room that consists of water and the mermen enemies. I believe this room is always presented differently but gives unique character to area it is used in. I have my own take on it and I think it is possible to do and it would be awesome thing to implement. Here is my layout and concept of that area for www.deviantart.com/mithius/art/Rock-Room-446653948The room now is split into 3 floors and the player does not have access to the lowest floor where the water is. Mermen can still attack the player though on the 2nd floor. The player gets access to the lowest floor of the Rock room via the under ground caverns once entering the rock room there are 2 pillars the player can destroy which in turn opens up the room for the remainder of the game. From here the player can leave and access the lower moat via the lowest left path, which crosses and conflicts with the path to the underground garden. To get over this, the player in that specific situation will be behind another layer just for that one room where paths cross like in metroid Zero mission. This Rock room idea fits in with ideas already present as there will be areas outside of the castle, the rock room would lead to the outside moat an upper and lower area and that area could be used for things like draining water to have access to some areas in the lower castle. I think this idea was used in Castlevania portrait of ruin or aria of sorrow on the DS. Creating an additional 3rd floor in the rock room does create a problem in that the waterfall room in the under ground caverns would need to be extended vertically by 1 space with 2 additional rooms thus lowering the area by 1 vertical space in the under ground caverns with the ferry man where the player gets the ability to breathe under water but that is a minor thing. Here is the map layout using the in game map imgur.com/SMHASbD

Now, THIS is concept art! This is exactly the type of stuff I had in mind. You took something that exists and added more details to it, expanded it and got creative with it while still being realistic with the expectations of what should be added! It has everything I need to literally send this to an artist and have them sprite out the necessary background pieces, tiles and object. Very well done.
I replied to your previous message. But it's clear that I need to put you on conceptual art. You are very skilled at it. Well done Mithius. This looks hand drawn so please do a more HD scan of it and send me it in a message here (the one you have up is a bit blurry). I will definitely want to use this.
