I have an announcement to make: due to his old site closing down, Yarrmateys (also known as Serio) has begun transitioning all of the information, downloads, etc. related to his amazing Castlevania Fighting game to these forums. For those who have never played it, he did some amazing work with the Mugen engine and created a fast-paced, fun, and truly challenging Castlevania by heavily modifying it. That includes a WIDE assortment of characters, an in-game shop, and many of the baddest bosses from the Castlevania series! All with lots of updated graphics and effects. He released his masterpiece and then worked on updating it for over 10 years, so while he has stated that he has no plans to develop it further, this forum will now serve as the main hub for any and all information related to it. He has also released the source to his creation, so if anyone else wants to work on it, feel free to give it a shot!
All of the former members of his old forums are of course welcome to join here and recreate your old threads as you see fit. Yarrmateys will fully manage the forums related to his game. He is a long-time friend of mine and I ask that everyone treat him with the same respect that you would all treat me with. I also ask that everyone be patient, as he has a LOT of information to transfer over for the game. So it could take him a few days.
For those who have never seen his game, please crawl out from under your rocks, and out of your basements. Then get the biggest bib you can find to catch all of the drool you are about to have streaming out of your mouth and look here:

I can't believe I missed this news for this long, with the forum "crumbling" after a long time, thanks for providing a place for the game alongside its discord channel. There is definitely still interest in working on it much further, but alas just like serio there's not much time to work on it so it's quite understandable that he dropped the project after so long.

It feels good saying that again, and it feels lovely seeing this project is still alive. I, and most of the original team, are still together and actively trying to work on the project, albeit underground, and it seems we've also picked up some new talent along the way.
Throughout the years I've kept spriting (although there wasn't much need for it) so perhaps I'd be of some use if you'd appreciate me coming out of 'retirement'. Seems weird saying it like that. It's been three years.
Geez Serio, you could've warned us about this place, thought CVF stuff would've stayed isolated among the players who got lucky to get the download links before the old forum was gone, or the people in the discord lol.
So how's it gonna be, you using this forum just to help out occasionally if someone decides to take over CVF?

i may try to help, but after so long i started forgetting how it worked myself, so i dunno if i'll be able to. lol. i haven't messed with mugen code for a long while now.
So a few people in the discord server are trying to keep updating the game, and in the last few days we're discussing Player Dracula's moveset, and since it's Dracula we're trying to make him special, and I'm wondering, did you guys had any specific ideas for him? I know Judgement's moveset was listed, but dunno if he was gonna be based only on that or more, 'cause I have a few ideas but it could mix with stuff you guys thought back then too, so anything in particular?
i don't think there were any concrete ideas for him yet. i remember cotm sprites were used to get him to be at relatively manageable height for a player character so evasion and such wouldn't be impractical.
also i think it'll be better to move the conversation to the general discussion subforum.
I play this game all the time on my PC. I even have my brother play with me as well sometimes. We both grew up playing castlevania but have different favs. I was always hoping for a Trevor character using the SOTN Sprites of Fake Trevor.
By the way, who do I contact to obtain a sprite set of Serio's Sonia Belmont? Really would love to see about turning those into 8 bit style and shrunken down for a project with full permission of course

Morell: New castlevania? And typical one too - for each castlevania you need specific emulator to play it on PC, none works on at least two of them. Looks really nice.... torrents are my last resort. installing 3DSmax is no pleasant thing.

Morell: Despite it is winter here, I saw a very big bat, not native to these lands, bigger than raven. So either it was flying fox (kind of fruit bat) escaped from captivity/smuggler or vampires exist.

otakuteam: Hello friends! Will the game also have an unlockable achievement system? Same as PSX, XBOX, Steam etc. If possible, could have more playable characters also containing different untold stories (Same as RE2 type Scenario A, Scenario B, 4th Survivor etc).

Pocketvania: The progress is outstanding. Played the demo tons. Though I am very concerned about the time limit per "stage". Is this really going to be kept? SoTN was so stress free just relaxing as you explored. Hopefully it does not stay, but that's my opinion.
