I feel like the original SOTN didn't have enough familiars or they weren't customizable enough. (At all actually.) How about adding in some new familiars or different familiars in the existing types. There's a ghost type, demon type, faerie type, sword type and bat type. Bat type can remain the same since there's not very much you can do to begin with. (Or implement an animal type and place the bat familiar in there along with some potential new ones!) Sword type can become Weapon type and have a few new weapon type familiars. On top of that, you can put equips on them that affect how they behave in battle. Anything you can wear or wield, they can. For example, putting the crissaegrim on the sword type will make it behave like the crissaegrim and it would just throw slashes all over the place and be ridiculously overpowered just like the Crissaegrim. lol Armor would be more suited for the humanoid familiars as it would boost their various resistances and such. Accessories, same thing. The familiar would have their effects. Something to ponder for sure. :3 Edit: Being able to name them or even change their color scheme would be a nice touch too.

Familiars need more work for sure, and I always thought they should level faster or share some % of your current level.
