Are you planning on redoing the game over screen? If not keeping the original, we can replace it with another picture or maybe when the player dies they can have multiple different pictures. Maybe some pictures of what happens because he died? Like Death taking Alucard’s soul, or maybe just a picture of Alucard dead. Didn’t see anything on this topic, thought it might be interesting. Classic is always good too.

Since I happened to see this, I'll take it as your 2nd suggestion/question for the month. This is a pretty neat idea and I'll take it into consideration. Though something like this, I wouldn't implement until WAY down the line. And I'd still want to keep the original in too. The screen melt effect is already done. It's actually a pretty simple trick of just moving each column of pixels down starting at different times via a shader.
It does bring up several questions though: under what circumstance would a different game over screen be displayed? And what about other characters? What about if we are using the legacy version of a player (I.E. rondo Richter)? Also the images would need to be consistent, which means the same artist would have to do them all. This also gives me another idea too: the possibility of game end images after the credits based on what happens. With some brief text. Since the original endings of the game were pretty.... bland.
But anyway since this would be stuff that would be done WAY down the line, I have plenty of time to think on stuff like this as I go.

Not that it would be implemented because there's already so many ideas on these forums. lol I'm a big fan of dynamic death screens and something interesting would be if you died by poison, or curse (even though the only thing curse does is make it to where you can't attack with most offensive techniques) or petrification, it would actually change the color of the blood that drips down or the screen melt effect. Poison would be like purple, curse would be black like darkness with the occasional skulls floating around in it or something to that effect. Petrification would be like instead of blood dripping down, it would be rocks dropping down and covering up the screen. I'm pretty much out of ideas at this point, but hey. I smelt an opportunity.
