Like the one from Dawn of Sorrow! Different monsters can drop different materials for use in crafting items, weapons, armor or accessories. Some crafted items can even be used for alchemical crafting to mix them together to make something entirely new! (Like the different potions or even a couple one-time-only Health Max Ups ) Some crafted items can even be used to cast spells, or boost the strength of them! Even further, some items could be equipped to make attacks while in the different transformations stronger.

I like this idea. One of the negative points of SotN was getting a really fun unique weapon, only for it to be immediately outclassed by Generic Broadsword Lookalike #54.
Like many things in SotN, the tricky balancing act would be a cutoff point so it doesn't steamroll the rest of the game the second you max out a sword.
But crafting was one of the (few) fun things about CoD. Like being able to forge Isaac's bizarre, weirdly pliant laser sword. I'd even be for just being able to beef up a favorite weapon (you can do this in Dark Souls, right?).

I'd even be for just being able to beef up a favorite weapon (you can do this in Dark Souls, right?). Yes. I was thinking more along the lines of mixing Monster Hunter and Dark Souls together. You could either beef up a weapon you already own if you prefer it, or make something entirely new using materials you got from killing big bad bitches along the way. Edit: I was more a fan of Isaac's spear as well, but it was immediately blown out of the water by the laser blade. With the way my crafting system would work, I could just dip the spear in a vat of whoop-ass instead of breaking down and grinding the materials to make the laser blade to be able to balance out the damage output. It would be the same thing here. If you enjoy a particular weapon more than another, it's time to upgrade!

SotN is a very easy game if you have played before. It might be a good idea to balance weapon damage as well as armor defense, forcing the player to seek an alternative that is not just leveling up or seeking a weapon or armor with high stats. Maybe a blacksmith would reinforce his favorite sword by charging a certain amount for the service. But not only that! The player must collect specific items according to the weapon and bring to the blacksmith to reinforce the weapon. Some of these reinforcement items would be common items. And for better weapons, rare or limited items. Then the player will have to think wisely on which weapons to spend the rare material. I also think the player should be able to sell that useless equipment, not just rings. But at a balanced price too, so you do not get rich early and ruin the game. Because that's how an RPG should be. Maybe this does not match the style of the game, but it's just another suggestion.

I would make it bit simpler. Maybe in spirit of World of Warcraft.(it took them multiple expansion to actually implement transmogrification in wow) Alucard is capable of magic himself and castle is being of chaos, right? So on correct place in the castle I think Alucard can use those chaotic energies. Why not make it the way that if you like some early game weapon, you can store it and when getting weapon of higher stats, you can use the place to transfer the stats on favored weapon, destroying weapon with stats transferred? I have idea about chaos mirror capable of doing such things, being surrounded with chaos, like few flying rocks and fire burning down instead of up.
... or it can be some mage/which/weirdo in the first stage Alucard can return to. If he can return there. (and I agree that Alucard collects a LOT of stuff during his way through the castle and it gets difficult to orient in that mass of weapons...)
