Hello Modders! This is my first post, so I'll start off by saying this looks awesome and I can't wait to see this project grow I realize its very early in development for you guys, but I hope you are considering the possibility of adding a "Randomizer" Difficulty setting. If you never heard of this feature before then look up homebrew mods for Zelda, Metroid, Mario, or even Castlevania. Randomizer settings can include switching around the locations of items, keys, spells/abilities, enemies, bosses, or more. Sometimes this can make the game quite easy (if you get a lucky item early), and other times it can make the game impossible. In order for this to work, you may have to redesign some of your stage layouts. And I have no idea how much work that would entail, especially if you are including different routes for different characters. But it really helps add extra replay-ability to a game, and if you are going for a much harder difficulty mode, I think a Randomizer would be the best option. Especially if you can allow players to choose their own settings, like in Zelda you can choose to randomize just the items, or you can randomize everything! I have absolutely no experience with coding, but if you are looking for help with level designs and layouts, I would definitely love to help brainstorm ideas, or maybe even draw up some sketches. I imagine your maps would be similar to the standard SotN map? I've played lots of Metroidvania games and I have wanted to make my own for a long time. If I could code my dream would be to make a 2D Sonic game in the style of metroidvania (well a few already exist but not any good ones). Even though this mod wont have Sonics speed, I know it will turn out great! One question I have is: will this game run just like a standard PS1 ISO file? on a standard Playstation 1 emulator? I can play SotN on my WiiU so I hope this runs too lol

This is something I have a serious interest in doing: making randomly generated layouts to add a lot more replay value to the game. But it is easier said than done. And not something I would be attempting to implement before completing the whole game as already planned.

4 long corridors with a random faction would be insane. Even 1 long corridor somewhere, but I am afraid people would exploit it somehow, waiting on right type of features or enemies to gain xp quicker or similar. Unless that room just toogled around heavy on "more difficult" enemies, but with same xp as normal ones.
Hmm. How about adding this is a mode once the main game is done instead? Or like a Classic Mode, like we are getting in Bloodstained; Ritual of the Night now. More linear old-school 'vania with more basic stuff. But with random factors attached, making a few "levels" / map-rooms / areas random in some capacity.
Now, I am by no means a coder, so I can only throw around ideas and suggestions. Its a thought however. Random is nice, if it can be controled, and if you have the actual time to make it work. Good suggestion overall.

I like this! It would make the game interesting every time you play, practically. I'm worried about that "impossible" part though...lol
